The patent war between Apple and Samsung has just gone to an end. Samsung is sentenced to pay $1.05 billion for violating 6 patents of Apple. 2 Methods to Import PowerPoint into Windows Live Movie Maker

Import photos and videos from portable devices

A message will show up notifying that photos and videos will be imported into Windows Live Photo Gallery, click "OK" to go on.

Then you Windows Live Movie Maker will scan your device to find photos and videos. Then you can choose preview and import part of the items or just import all items at once. After you have decided, click "Import" to begin.

Then open Windows Photo Gallery and click "Create" > "Movie" to send all the photos to Windows Live Movie Maker.

Import PowerPoint to Windows Live Movie Maker

Because PowerPoint formats are not actually supported by Windows Live Movie Maker, that’s why we choose to import PowerPoint to Windows Live Movie Maker as images.

Microsoft PowerPoint support converting PowerPoint slides to images directly. Click "File" and choose "Save As" to export PowerPoint as out file formats.

In the pop up window, choose an image format in the "Save as Type" frame.

A prompt will show up, choose "Every Slide" to save all the PowerPoint slides as images.

Then run Windows Live Movie Maker and click "Home" > "Add videos and photos" to import all the output PowerPoint images.

Tips:

During the PowerPoint to image conversion process, because all the animations, transitions, music, video clips and internal hyperlinks have been removed, so you should further edit PowerPoint images in Windows Live Movie Maker to create a good movie.

How to Convert Photo to DVD Slideshow on Linux

One of the great advantages of using Linux system beside the stability is the freeware. Usually if people choose Linux, the open-source operating system, which is free of charge, you can't expect them to pay for software using on Linux. So today we will introduce another free program which is designed to convert your photos to stunning DVD slideshows. Imagination is a lightweight and powerful photo to DVD slideshow maker in GTK+2. Just download the source code and use apt, yum, pacman or other package manager to install it on your computer.

The latest version of Imagination is 3.0, released on 06/03/11 with HD export. Imagination now has 69 transition effects, support burn photo slideshow to DVD and export slideshow as OGV Theora/Vorbis, widescreen FLV video and 3GP for mobile phones.

Now run the program and click "Slideshow" > "Import Pictures" or click the "Add" button below to add your photos. You photos will be listed at the bottom and you can drag to change the order. The current image will be show at the left and the slide settings are at the right side.

You can specify a transition for each photo or select them all and add transitions to them all at once: either apply the same settings or click "Random" to let the program choose for you.

Then you can add background music in your photo slideshow. Press "Slideshow" > "Import Music" to load music files to Imagination.

When the settings are OK, click "Slideshow" > "Export" > "VOB (DVD video)" and select a location to save the output VOB files. Choose one "Television Format" – 4:3 or 16:9 – before you click "OK" to begin.

The imagination doesn't have DVD burner engine embedded so you should burn the output VOB files to DVD disc using DeVeDe or 2ManDVD later.
