Two methods to view PowerPoint on Samsung Galaxy S

Posted on 00:58 by Unknown
The Samsung Galaxy S is an Android Smartphone debuted in March 2010. By January 2011, it has sold 10 million globally. The Galaxy S was even named the European Smartphone of the Year at the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards 2010-2011.

It features a 1 GHz processor along with 8-16 GB internal Flash memory and a 4-inch AMOLED touch screen, which is large and ideal for video chats, play back of video or surfing the Internet. The 480x800 pixel resolution is high enough for you to see the image’s detail, and it makes watching movies, TV shows or even playing games much more enjoyable.
There is a 5MP camera on this device, which is able to record 720p HD video at 30FPS, but for higher quality, it’s better to be at least 8MP camera. This might be the only “weakness” of Samsung Galaxy S.

Nowadays the world is filled with movies and music, so every new Smartphone is bringing us with fresh multimedia experience. Samsung Galaxy S’s multimedia player is far better than the others’. It supports MPEG-4, H.264, H.263, Divx, Xvid, WMV, AVI, MKV and FLV, etc.
It seems like viewing PowerPoint on portable devices has become popular. There are lots of questions about how to view PowerPoint on Smartphone or tablet. What about Samsung Galaxy S?
Two methods are available for viewing PowerPoint on Samsung Galaxy S.
Since Samsung Galaxy S is based on Google’s Android open source platform, you can use this application called ThinkFree Office Mobile for Android to view PowerPoint. ThinkFree is trying hard to be compatible with Microsoft Office, now it can open files from Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint 97/2000/XP/2003/2007. But Microsoft is so popular that as a follower, ThinkFree is always left behind. So problems may happen when users make PowerPoint using some unique features of Microsoft PowerPoint.
However, another method is open for you. With the PowerPoint to Samsung Galaxy S video converter, all your PowerPoint original elements like animations, transitions, video clips, sounds, fonts and languages will be preserved. As a format converter, Moyea PPT to Video is much easier than ThinkFree to be fully compatible with Microsoft Office. It supports all Microsoft PowerPoint versions, including PowerPoint 2010.
Besides, it is quite easy to convert PowerPoint to video for playing on Samsung Galaxy S. All you need to do is to add PowerPoint file, choose a video format and start conversion.

Very soon you can transfer the output video to Samsung Galaxy S and enjoy it.

Success of Samsung-Big Threat to Both Nokia and Apple

Posted on 19:00 by Unknown
Samsung is successful all over the world because it is good at changing, unlike Nokia and Apple, the two famous mobile phone manufacturers. The Nokia used to be proud for the solid quality of its mobile phones, so it is always on the top. But nowadays, the quality is not the most important anymore. Instead people care about the fashion design and diverse functions. That’s why iPhone series become so popular.
However, there is problem that Nokia and Apple have their own patterns that won’t change easily. Nokia recently have tried new strategies by releasing new products frequently with little changes actually. People satirized Nokia’s recent move as “Cover changing strategy” – simply change the cover with no difference inside. Apple is so proud of its simplicity design that all the products, like Mac, iPad, iPod, iPhone look nearly the same. But who knows when the customers will get sick of this?
Samsung is a unique company. Samsung pay lots of attention on the cover design of its mobile phones. Samsung has established thousands of research centers worldwide. What is that for? The research centers will make study on habits and preferences of the locals. Then the Samsung manufactures will release the special designed products for them. That’s why Samsung can catch up with the most famous manufacturers and finally become a dangerous competitor.
Samsung is not a pioneer but a follower-a successful follower. It follows Nokia to release mobile phone as well as Apple iPad to release Galaxy Tab. But it managed to hold its own market.

Easter VS Tomb Sweeping Day

Posted on 02:52 by Unknown
It is interesting that in the two so different culture-Western and Chinese, they still have so many things in common.

Take holidays for example, the Chirstmas day in Western culture has almost the same status as Spring Festival in Chinese culture. Some people have write articles to discuss that. I still remember when I was at college, I used to write something about this topic.

Lately, because the Easter is coming,I learnt something about it and find out Easter is quite like Tomb Sweeping Day actually. Both of the festivals have two main purpose:

Easter:
1.Commemorate Jesus Christ
2.Celebrate the Spring

Tomb Sweeping Day:
1.Commemorate the ancestors
2.Celebrate the Spring

They both celebrate the good time of Spring. In chinese, they say the best time of a year is Spring. But, even in this part, the two cultures have differences, two.

Easter:
Celebrate the hope (Jesus Christ or Spring),and fertility (Eggs and rabbits)

Tomb Sweeping Day:
The Chinese will go out to nature, usually the kids will fly a kite and when the kite is high, they will cut the thread to let it go. It means the kite to take away the bad luck. In Chinese culture, praying for getting good luck and avoiding bad luck is always in the center of their religious activities.

However, in the first purpose of the two holidays, we can see the huge difference between the two cultures. The Western is memorize Jesus Christ who is a famous religious figure, who died for all the human being and revive on Easter day. So the Easter Day at the basic layer is quite religious thing. The whole secular parts like Easter eggs and Easter bunnies are comming from Middle East customs. When we study about the history we can see how religion take so important role in Western countries. Even the power of a nation is shared by church and the king. And even the king was authorized by the Pope.

While the Chinese culture is always secular since thousands of year ago. The confusian systems was not based on a religious background. It is formed at the time when the whole China is in a mess, 7 huge nations and hundreds of small natiosn are at war for hundreds of years. The confucian system tends to improve the knowledge and morality of people by themselves.

Every time, when the country is at war, and people suffers the most. And people want to believe in something so they may have the strength to live on.

So the Buddhism came in, and the native Taoism formed to fight againt Buddhism.
But throughout the Chinese history, Buddhism and Taoism never have advantage when facing Confucian.

The most important part of Confucian is the respect for ancestors, which can spread to respect for parents, elders, and loyal to emperor. The family is always in the core of the Chinese systems. In their minds, even the whole country is a huge family.

Nowadays, the world is more like a "Western" world, and other countries with different cultures have to make compromise when facing western cultures. But I'd like to see someday, different cultures on the Earth could be equal to communicate with each other.

Easter 2011 is on the corner, April 24 will soom come. What will you do to celebrate this happy holiday? Here are some tips which may be helpful for you:

How to View PowerPoint on Facebook

Posted on 00:00 by Unknown
Facebook is the most popular SNS (social networking service) website now.

It's nice that people can share messages, photos, music and videos on Facebook. If only the PowerPoint can be viewed on Facebook.

Just like the old saying- "All roads lead to Rome" tell us, there are ways to share PowerPoint on Facebook with more people to expand your social network or promote your business better.

Method One: Slideshare application on Facebook

This Slideshare application enables you to upload the PowerPoint to Facebook easily, although it more likes pictures than slideshow, without the transitions, animations and other elements.

Method Two: Convert PowerPoint to Facebook video

Since we can directly upload video to Facebook, why not share PowerPoint as video on Facebook? Besides, all your PowerPoint original elements like animations, transitions, video clips, sounds, fonts and languages can be preserved. With this PPT to Facebook video converter, things become so easy.

PPt2Facebook-Converter
  • First, add PowerPoint to this program.
  • Then, choose the output video format as AVI, FLV, MPEG, MOV or WMV that Facebook supports.
  • Finally, click "Start" to begin the PowerPoint to Facebook video conversion with all elements retained.
Then, you can then upload the video to Facebook directly.

8 Tips to Increase the Chance of Getting a Job

Posted on 19:21 by Unknown
Here are 8 things to do that will dramatically increase your chances of being employed.

1. Don't be a "smiley face".

Excessive smiling in a job interview is seen for what it is--nervousness and a lack of confidence. A smiley-face person exudes phoniness, which will quickly be picked up by the interviewer. Instead be thoughtful and pleasant. Smile when there's something to smile about. Do a practice run in front of a mirror or friend.

2. Don't be a bad comedian.

Humor tends to be very subjective, and while it may be tempting to lead your interview with a joke you've got to be careful about your material. You probably will know nothing about the sensibilities of your interviewer, let alone what makes them laugh. On the other hand, nothing disarms the tension of a job interview like a little laughter, so you can probably score at least a courtesy chuckle mentioning that it's "perfect weather for a job interview!"

3. Don't sweat.

You can lose a job by wearing an undershirt or simply a little too much clothing. Sweaty palms or beads on your forehead will not impress. Sweat will be seen as a sign of weakness and nervousness. Do a practice run with your job interview outfit in front of friends. The job interview is one place you definitely don't want to be hot.

4. Don't be a small-talker.

Your job is to be knowledgeable about the company for which you're interviewing. Random facts about last night's episode or your favorite blog will not get you the job. Never feel you he to fill an interview with small talk. Find ways to talk about serious subjects related to the industry or company. Pockets of silence are better than padding an interview with random babble.

5. Don't be petty.

Asking the location of the lunchroom or meeting room will clue the interviewer into your lack of preparation and initiative. Prepare. Don't ask questions about routine elements or functions of a company: where stuff is, the size of your cube, and company policy on coffeebreaks.

6. Don't be a liar.

Studies show that employees lie frequently in the workplace. Lying won't get you a job. In a job interview even a slight exaggeration is lying. Don't. Never stretch your resume or embellish accomplishments. One lie can ruin your entire interview, and the skilled interviewer will spot the lie and show you the door.

7. Don't be high-maintenance.

If you start talking about the ideal office temperature, the perfect chair for your tricky back, and how the water cooler needs to be filled with imported mineral water, chances are you'll be shown a polite smile and the door, regardless of your qualifications. Nobody hiring today is going to be looking for someone who's going to be finicky about their workspace.

8. Don't be a switchblade.

Normally the switchblade is thought of a backstabber, often taking credit for someone else's work. In an interview setting, the switchblade can't help but "trash talk" his former employer. If you make it seem like your former workplace was hell on Earth, the person interviewing you might be tempted to call them to find out who was the real devil.

Tomb Sweeping Day - Memorize the Dead and Enjoy the Spring

Posted on 02:13 by Unknown
Tomb Sweeping Day of 2011 falls on April 5.

Tomb Sweeping Day (also known as Pure Brightness Festival or Qingming Festival), which falls on either April 4th or 5th of the Gregorian calendar, is one of the Chinese Twenty-four Solar Terms. From that date temperatures begin to rise and rainfall increases, indicating that it is the crucial time for plowing and sowing in the spring. Tomb Sweeping Day therefore has a close relationship with agriculture. However, it is not only a seasonal symbol; it is also a festival of paying respect to the ancestors, a spring outing, and other activities. It is much like Easter Day when people memorize the dead (ancestor in China and Christ in West) and at the same time enjoy the spring.

Origin
The most popular saying is about a loyal man living in the Spring and Autumn Period (770 - 476 BC), named Jie Zitui. Jie cut a piece of meat from his own leg in order to save his hungry lord who was forced to go into exile when the crown was in jeopardy. The lord came back to his position nineteen years later, and forgot Jie Zitui but later felt ashamed and decided to reward him. However, Jie had blocked himself up in a mountain with his mother. In order to find Jie, the lord ordered that the mountain should be set on fire. Later Jie was found dead with his mother. In order to commemorate Jie, the lord ordered that the day Jie died was Hanshi (Cold Food) Festival - the day that only cold food could be eaten. Hanshi Festival is the 105th day after the winter solstice and last for 3 days while Tobm Sweeping Day is the 108th day. Later, the two festivals were combined as one - Tomb Sweeping Day.

Traditional Customs
Tomb Sweeping Day is a time of many different activities, among which the main ones are tomb sweeping, taking a spring outing, and flying kites. Some other lost customs like wearing willow branches on the head and riding on swings have added infinite joy in past days. The festival is a combination of sadness and happiness.

Tomb Sweeping
Tomb sweeping is regarded as the most important custom in the Tomb Sweeping Day. Cleaning the tomb and paying respect to the dead with offerings are the two important parts of remembering the past relatives. Weeds around the tomb are cleared away and fresh soil is added to show care of the dead. The dead person's favourite food and wine are taken to sacrifice to them, along with paper resembling money. This is all burned in the hope that the deceased are not lacking food and money.

Spring Outing
Not only is it a day for commemorating the dead, is it also a festival for people to enjoy themselves. During March, everything in nature takes on a new look, as trees turn green, flowers blossom, and the sun shines brightly. It is a fine time to go out and to appreciate the beautiful scenes of nature during the festival. This custom can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) and followed by each dynasty later till today. So visitors can be seen everywhere during the month of the festival.

Flying Kites
Flying kites is an activity favored by many people during the Tomb Sweeping Day. Kites are not only flown during the day time but also in the evening. Little lanterns are tied to the kite or to the string that holds the kite. And when the kite is flying in the sky, the lanterns look like twinkling stars that add unique scenery to the sky during the night. What makes flying kites during this festival special is that people cut the string while the kite is in the sky to let it fly free. It is said this brings good luck and that diseases can be eliminated by doing this.

All in all, the Tomb Sweeping Day is an occasion of unique characteristics, integrating sorrowful tears to the dead with the continuous laughter from the spring outing.
