Word to PowerPoint & PowerPoint to Word

Posted on 23:22 by Unknown

Word to PowerPoint:

If you have created a Word document, you almost have finished a PowerPoint. Convert Word to PowerPoint, or to be more specific, convert word outline to PowerPoint format is possible.

Step 1: Click on the Word 2007 & 2010 ribbon, choose “Customize Quick Access Toolbar”.

Step 2: In the popup window, choose commands from “Commands not in the ribbon” and find “Send to Microsoft PowerPoint”, click “Add” to add it to the Quick Access Toolbar.

Step 3: Before you send Word to PowerPoint, you should do some editing work on the styles and formatting. If not, every single paragraph will be converted to one slide by default. You only need to convert the outline (keywords and bullet) to PowerPoint, so make the following editing:

·Texts that are formatted with Heading 1 will be converted to Title text in PowerPoint.

·Texts that are formatted with Heading 2 will be converted to primary bullet.

·Texts that are formatted with Heading 3 will be converted to sub-bullet (2nd level bullet), Heading 4 will be converted to 3rd level bullet, so on and so forth.

Text with unformatted style will not be sent to PowerPoint in this case. In addition, objects such as tables, diagrams, pictures, shapes, etc. cannot be sent to PowerPoint.

Step 4: Click “Send to Microsoft PowerPoint” and you will get a “Black and White” style PowerPoint.

Step 5: Apple a Design theme to the output PowerPoint.

PowerPoint to Word:

On the contrary, you can also convert PowerPoint to word, which contains only the PowerPoint contents (text and notes), without the style, format, animations, transitions, etc. By converting PowerPoint to word handouts for others to check or edit, you can perfectly protect the original PowerPoint file.

Step 1: In PowerPoint 2007, click on the Office button > Publish > Create Handouts in Microsoft Word; In PowerPoint 2010, select File > Save & Send > Create Handouts > Create Handouts.

Step2: Converting PowerPoint to Word can be done in 5 different ways: Speaker notes next to slides; Blank lines next to slides; Speaker notes below slides; Blank lines below slides; Outline only.

Step 3: The output Word file may not look good. Make some necessary adjustments like the styles, color and fonts.
