How to Convert PowerPoint to Video

Posted on 00:05 by Unknown
Why Convert PowerPoint to Video:

When we I PowerPoint, I mean Microsoft PowerPoint, for it the most widely used PowerPoint presentation software, mainly due to the success of Windows Operating system. Mainly because of Microsoft’s business design, we will face lots of problems when using PowerPoint.

1. So many versions of PowerPoint, the most famous are PowerPoint 2003, PowerPoint 2007 and PowerPoint 2010. Two problems will bothers us:

  (1) We need to pay again for upgrading PowerPoint to a higher version. Evil Microsoft PowerPoint, for every version, we have to pay again and again.

  (2) According to Microsoft’s tradition, the new version is back-compatible with lower version to some extent. So the PowerPoint made in higher version cannot be played in lower version.

2. PowerPoint is PC-based software, of course it has Mac versions now, but we still need a computer to watch PowerPoint. What if we don’t?

3. PowerPoint from different countries may use different languages. So the language pack is a problem.

4. PowerPoint is still not supported by most of the websites, especially online sharing sites. The most famous ones like YouTube, Metacafe don’t allow users to upload PowerPoint.

All these problems can be perfectly solved after converting PowerPoint to video.

How to Convert PowerPoint to Video?

There are many ways we can choose to export PowerPoint to video if we want to. Basically I suggest using like Moyea PPT to Video Converter to convert PowerPoint to video. Later, I will also tell some methods.

Method A: Moyea PPT to Video Converter

Step 1: Free download and install, run the program and add PPT file.

Step 2: choose an output video format and set the video codec, video size, bit rate, etc as you need.

Step 3: start conversion and we’ll get the video out of PowerPoint easily.

Tips:

All your PowerPoint original elements like animations, transitions, video clips, sounds, fonts and languages will be preserved. Besides, the output video format is abundant; almost all the popular video formats are supported. Great, isn’t it?

Method B: Windows Movie Maker

Step 1: Save your PowerPoint slides as images like JPG or PNG in Microsoft PowerPoint.

Step 2: Import these pictures into Windows Movie Maker and make a video.

Tips:

All the original elements will lose and you need to edit it again using what Windows Movie Maker provides.

Method C: Online PowerPoint sharing websites

The PPT sharing sites like authorSTREAM.com and DocStoc.com enables you to display PowerPoint presentations online. However, technically, the PowerPoint you upload to these sites is not in PPT format anymore, indeed the PowerPoint has been automatically converted to video format like MP4 or FLV. That’s why we can use these websites to export PowerPoint as video.

Tips:

The output video format is limited and you cannot adjust the video parameters yourself.

Method D: Only for PowerPoint 2010 users

PowerPoint has added a new function; with it we can directly save PowerPoint as video format. But the video format can only be WMV and the video size can only be 960×720, 640×480 or 320×240.

Tips:

You need to have PowerPoint 2010 first. Besides, the output video format and video size is limited.

Method E: Screen recorder

If you have the budget, you can use a screen recording application like Camtasia Studio to record PowerPoint presentations as video on your desktop.

Tips:

This will take you lots of time and the recorded video is quite large, you’ll need to use video converter to edit the video to reduce the size.

Ok, after viewing the 5 methods of converting PowerPoint to video, which one do you prefer? Personally I’d prefer the Method A, for it the easiest and has all the solutions we want.
