Posted on 19:59 by Unknown

It is strong but has many shortages, like incompatibility between different versions, not work on different operating systems, trouble when transfer to another computer, etc. As the “Cloud Era” comes, Google Docs gives you more conveniences for it can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. You can create document, presentation and spreadsheet on Google Docs, which are the counterparts of Word, PowerPoint and Excel for Microsoft Office.

Besides, you can Upload Microsoft PowerPoint file to Google Docs. If you have a PowerPoint slideshow with images and text – because sound and video will be removed, you can have a try. What should be mentioned is that there is a 10MB limit on the size of file you can upload.

Sign in (or sign up) to Google Docs; click on “Files” → “Upload”, locate the file you want to upload, remember to check “Convert documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and drawings to the corresponding Google Docs formats” box and click on “Start Upload” button. If you don’t check the box, the PowerPoint won’t be editable on Google Docs.

Very soon your PowerPoint presentation will be converted to an editable Google Docs presentation with a link placed Google Docs Home Page. Now you can open the PowerPoint presentation on Google Docs and edit the text and images. Google Docs only support adding online YouTube videos, click “Insert” → “Video” and select a YouTube video from the pop-up window.

Click “Insert” → “Image” so that you can put pictures onto Google Docs PowerPoint from local drive or online URL.

The purpose of uploading your PowerPoint presentation to Google Docs is to make your presentations available for anyone to view. The default setting is “Private”. Click the triangle button of the “Share” tab on the top right of the main page. Choose “Share” so you can set the PowerPoint to be viewed by yourself or the selected people.

Click “Publish/Embed” to make the presentation available to anyone on the Internet and Google Docs will offer you the embed code for you to use on your blog.
